Poppy Barley is a Certified B Corporation boot\, shoe\, and accessory brand which was founded in 2012 by Justine and Kendall Barber\; sisters from Edmonton.  The sisters share a vision to re-think the footwear industry and partner with family owned factories. They are driven by the relentless pursuit to re-think luxury for the people and the planet. Justine will speak about the journey of creating Poppy Barley\, the challenges and obstacles they had to overcome\, which have all led to the successful brand we see in malls and shopping districts across the country today.\n\n\n\nTickets include a glass of champagne (or a non-alcoholic equivalent)\, dinner\, and dessert - catered by Sorrentino's. Gift cards will be given to guests at the event on July 11. \n\n\n\nJustine Barber\n\nJustine has a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Alberta and a Master of Arts in Conflict Analysis from the University of Kent\, and has spent time working in consulting and conflict prevention prior to founding Poppy Barley with her sister Kendall in 2012. Justine is married and a mother to two young sons\; in her free time she enjoys running\, reading and relaxing through 'Netflix and wine.' Justine has won the Alumni Innovation award from the U of A\, was named one of Western Living Designers of the Year "Ones to Watch"\, and a Global Edmonton Woman of Vision.
